Task 23 TADA

TADA, we're done, so long farewell adieu adieu. It's been an interesting and fun expereience, I know that I like pictures on my blog, lol. It was cool to see how darned intelligent all you library folk are, and how much I need to learn, whew. My fave part was of course youtube, which I already had dabbled with. I liked flickr and the slogan thingy. I didn't see much point to tagging and really shoulda found a wallet for all my new passwords and username jive. All in all it was cool. I really am in need of a laptop, so I hope my lil name gets pulled..............much concentration going to the fishbowl. I am barely finishing this by the hair on my chinny chin chin, minus the hair. Bye Bye.

I don't like that I had to download quicktime to list to poetry podcast. Listened to LibVibe podcast on yahoo podcast--regarding a strike that was ongoing at a Vancouver library --quite interesting. The yahoo podcast was the best for ease of use I thought, not sure how to do the RSS feed thing. ( in fact I don't like how the RSS thing works, so I tried to use it, but to no avail-unuser friendly)
I read that yahoo is closing their podcasts, just the one I liked, go figure.

Task 20 & 21

Downloadable books, I joined this in the Net Library in the beginning but was disappointed when I couldn't use my current mp3 to listen to burned discs. I didn't go out and buy a new player because the one I have works fine for my music. I do have the "Count of Monte Cristo," on my computer and haven't really found time to sit and listen to it yet.......but who knows. The concept of downloadable books is awesome though.
Overdrive was a bit easier to at least access, but I am not going to burn another coaster in order to listen to a book on cd--with an old mp3 player.

Task 17

Wiki's, what strange titles they can come up with these days--and a wiki-farm......not quite sure I love the wiki revolution yet. It seems to be a great resource tool, but the fact that anyone can add or edit to the wiki is not good.

Book Lovers wiki was neat-and I don't use that word much. lol. I liked reading the 3 comments on the horror section--so underrated.

Task #16

I really like looking up old articles from newspapers of the past! I checked out jobs and found them quite interesting. One of them stated help soldiers secure jobs. It is a nice resource and I am glad to know more about this!

Task 15

I like the Rosetta stone, and definitely the auto repair stuff-found out some interesting bulletins on recall info. I found the medline plus quite informative, as well.

Task 14

Wow the ebsco adv. search was sort of interesting, but I didn't find the rest to be all that pertinent to me.

Task 13

This guy is naughty and sorta funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny!! Love the twinkle smile.
I wouldn't use this one for the the library at all though!!!!

Tasks 11 & 12

Well I read through most of the Webjunction Resources and found the part about a "storied library" rather interesting. I would have to say our library has quite the story and involved water quite a bit. It seems ironic that water follows us no matter what around here. Marketing trends was interesting too. I haven't signed up for an acct. yet though.

Task 9 & 10 Tagging

Well I have checked out tagging and really don't see much point to it. This isn't really my thing so I will not be tagging, but thanks for the insight.

Task #8: Well the you tube posting was fairly simple, need more time in order to find something cool to post...not quite sure about posting my own stuff yet--that might blow up my little brain. Don't you just love You Tube, everything your little heart ever desired is on here at your viewing disposal.

Task 5 & 6: Who knew flickr was associated with yahoo/I have always used a different type of program to upload and share photos. This will be yet another learning experience. I just got a a digital camera for an early b-day gift too-woopay. I do prefer photobucket to flickr, however. I will stick with what I am familiar with on this topic!
